Virtual Training Environment
We are currently developing a virtual training system for improved pattern recognition-based myoelectric prosthesis control. The challenge of implementing pattern recognition control into functional prosthesis is that functionality of this intuitive control strategy is heavily dependent on the user's ability to produce consistent muscle commands. The development of a task-specific virtual system that provides visual feedback with real-time decoded virtual prosthesis will attribute to increased pattern recognition control and promote a natural transition to real world usability of the prosthesis.
 
Virtual training environment for improving pattern-recognition based prosthesis control. The user performs tasks in the virtual environment to help improve control over his or her prosthetic limb.
