Essay Questions
Write an essay addressing one of the following questions:- Question 1) Which areas of research in neuroengineering (e.g. neural instrumentation, neural imaging, neural regeneration, etc.) will become the most significant in the future and why?
- Question 2) What are some of the ethical dilemmas that the field of neuroengineering may face as it develops?
Prizes
A first prize of $100 and a second prize of $50 will be awarded for each question. Students may submit entries to both questions if they wish, but only one essay per question.Requirements
- Junior or Senior in Maryland High School
- No previous knowledge of neuroengineering is required to participate
- Essay-typed, double spaced, length 750-1250 words (not including reference list)
- Attach a reference list of material that was consulted in order to write the essay
Submission
A complete entry must include:- Official Contest Application Form
- Official or unofficial high school transcript
- Essays and application form may be submitted electronically as attachments with an email to neticontest@gmail.com or mailed to the address below.

Deadlines
All three items (essay, application form, and transcript) are required for participation in the contest.- All emailed items must be received by Monday, November 12, 2007, 10pm.
- All mailed items must be postmarked by Friday, November 9, 2007.
All participants will be notified of contest results no later than December 15th, 2007.
